...REJOI AND BE GLAD...

Quero acreditar que os milagres acabam por chegar! Quando nem sempre os esperamos, mas quando mais precisamos deles! Chegam com a mesma intensidade com que os queremos receber... e com a dimensão exacta do que fizemos para os merecer!

"..I was walking on the beach, watching the waves hit my feet..

I then sat on my towel that I brought along..

I looked at the glorious sunset and remember certain events that took place earlier that day.."

I believe in a world where our differences fit together like the patterns of a quilt.. colours in a landscape.. crayons in a box.. rather than divide us, like religions and borders..

I believe in a higher power and try to maintain a positive relationship.. rather than elevating prophets, the messengers, to supreme status.. You've heard the expression :"Don't shoot the messenger!!", with regards to bad news.. meaning the messenger is only carrying the bad tidings.. shooting him won't stop the tidings from being bad..

So, I believe, it should be the same in reverse and the expression could be: "Don't worship the messenger!!", for bringing good news.. just embrace the good news..

I believe that all religions attempt the same thing and only fail because they are too rigid and break either internally from dissent or from external pressures that they can't encompass.. The more successful ones bend to include those who were previously not welcomed because of some standard that was imposed hundreds of years previously because it seemed that including everyone was a bad idea..

I believe we can include everyone.. I believe humans misbehave.. If there is a God that judges their souls, then let him or her do it, not anyone here and alive..

Our duty should only extend to judging actions.. I believe it should be religion's duty to encourage good behavior by example and not by threat.. I believe that threatening one another with what will happen to us after we die is as archaic as some of the languages these threats are written in..

I believe we should not mistake age for accuracy or validity..

I believe we all carry a spark of the divine, just as the stars do, and the trees, and jellyfish..

I believe there is no life form greater than another, only those more or less enlightened by knowledge..

I believe that in general, one who is more enlightened in one area will be less enlightened in another, so that exclusion of others makes one less knowledgeable and therefore less enlightened, ad ifinitum, and doomed to a rather dim existence, and worse, one that possibly harms others through its ignorance..

I believe we get closer to this world where our differences complement one another every day.. and yet there is always the chance that people will become over stimulated and flock to worship a new messenger and follow them down a path leading to another great setback for living creatures.. another world war or ecological destruction..

I believe that as we gradually move towards a world in which we can extend hands of friendship across all borders.. we should, together, address the idea that we are on unsustainable pathways of expansion and resource management.. and start planning long-term, before we reach a crisis stage, for how we will manage renewal..

I believe in a world where we can address these issues with our minds rather than with our guns or through wholesale slaughter.. History shows that spending too much on war sets the stage for collapse.. and it may be centuries before a culture can recover, if ever..

I believe in spending money on education and technology to advance alternative lifestyles and smarter use of resources, and planning for an environmental collapse rather than a social one..

I believe participation should be voluntary, but that abstinence should come with a reduction of the resulting benefits..

I believe that staying indoors is like being in a cage.. and that we share more in common with zoo animals than anything supposedly superior..

I believe that spiritual atrophy results from technological isolation.. and yet, by carrying the spark of the divine.. we are able to contact new spirit guides within our cages.. mainly because there is still a link to the outdoors..

I believe the source of the light illuminating your computer screen comes from far away, and that even if you were to light a candle, the materials you would have to use will have come from outside of your enclosure.. and represent forces much older than yourself..

I believe that your walls and furniture and glass and books and even plastics are alchemical gifts from the Earth.. hopefully crafted by those who appreciate them..

I don't think that being nominally self-sufficient inside our abodes makes us superior to the birds and bees.. I believe it just makes us more ignorant of what really sustains us (knowledge that they have and use every day).. and what the true cost is to the environment for the resources that we constantly use..

I believe it is possible to balance shelter, warmth, comfort, food, water and electrical connection with walking, human contact, and conscious appreciation for, and protection of, the forces that shape our lives..

I believe that keeping these ideas at a conscious level not only encourages enlightenment, and a spiritual connection to our homes, from our own personal space, to our yard, neighborhood and country.. to the earth and solar system, and all the way out to the stars.. but reduces the wandering of the consciousness into realms that disrespect the energies and resources that sustain all life everywhere..

I believe life is made up of cycles.. and that beyond the obvious natural cycles, a kind word to someone, or touch, will cycle well beyond your reach, while a derogatory one will do the same..

I believe that cycles reach a normal state of completion, but can be interrupted and changed for better or for worse..

I believe I can be friends with a house fly once we surmount the language barrier..

I believe that snow falling from the sky makes me happy for reasons I don't fully understand..

I believe waves curling ashore do the same, and clouds changing formation, and sunlight illuminating them, and falling through trees..

I believe that stories are as important as shelter.. and that we can still read them even if we are reduced to only one sense..

I believe that colours are still beautiful in greyscale..

I believe that stars deserve names and that if we want to, we can call them by our own made-up ones..

I believe some of my best friends have had four legs, and some have had fins..

I believe that love is several orders of magnitude harder than hate, and more rewarding..

I believe that it is possible to sever all ties to other humans and stand alone to face life.. but that there is no one that cares when you do..

I believe love and friendship last forever.. regardless of what happens afterwards.. because even if it is no longer current, the story remains..

I believe that humans are in much more danger than we realize.. but that together we can overcome anything that comes our way.. or die trying--together..

I believe that these are my opinions and that you are welcome to share them.. or to formulate your own..

I just.. BELIEVE!!

Namasté..
